Please see the email below regarding the play equipment within Bury Meadow Park. I am seeking further clarification with regard to the much enjoyed trampoline. I will keep you all updated.
Dear Cllrs,
I attach photos of the two new items of play equipment and new safety surfacing that our contractor has installed at Bury Meadow Play Area, and a photo of the cantilever swing that our team has reinstalled.
Unfortunately, however, we have had to make the decision to remove the trampoline. Whilst we appreciate that this has always been a very popular play item, safety inspections have identified a moderate risk as the bed of the trampoline is damaged leaving holes large enough to create a potential foot entrapment.
Furthermore, the bed of the bouncing facility bottoms out easily – the clearance between the trampoline bed and the ground underneath no longer meets the requirements of BS EN 1176.
Kind regards,
Paula
